Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions
Q:What Type of Wood Do You Use for Your Doors? A: Most of our doors are made from Brazilian White Walnut(species name:Yesquero, also referred to as South American White Mahogany). While we've used other species previously, this wood has all the desirable qualities for use in an entry door. It is rot resistant, extremely strong, durable, and not prone to warping/cracking. Free of knots, it takes paints, stain &/or sealers beautifully. It's FSC Certified for Green & Eco-Friendly Building Projects. This offers our customers the ability to choose products from socially & environmentally responsible forestry.
Q:How fast can I get my Blue Ridge Door? A: All of our doors are built-to-order, and not available for immediate delivery. While most other mnaufacturers can take 6 to 8 weeks from order to delivery, we strive to ship all orders with 5 to 10 business days from payment clearing/confirmation date. Normal transit time is usually no more than 4 days, depending upon your location.
Q: Can I pick-up my Blue Ridge Door? A: Pickup is available by appointment ONLY at our northeast TN plant. Please allow at least five (5) business days from payment clearing/confirmation date for pickup. | | | | | | | Q: My rough opening size is smaller/larger than you describe. Can you expand/reduce the size of the door? A: Yes, in most cases, we can re-size the overall unit to fit your rough opening and an additional charge will be applied. Ask seller for specifics.
Q: Do I have to pay Sales Tax? A: Only TN customers and customers without a Reseller Tax ID that pick-up at our plant are subject to TN Sales tax, which is currently 8.5%.
| | | | | | Q: Describe the basic features of your doors. A: All doors are solid Walnut with mortice and tenon construction, pre-hung on solid Walnut Jambs, and include beveled, insulated & tempered triple-paned glass. Our doors also include exterior brickmouldings, premium grade exterior hinges with matching aluminum threshold with oak adjustable sills, heavy-duty compression weatherstripping and door sweeps. All doors come unfinished. They require 2-3 coats of a good quality exterior stain/sealer/paint. Doors can also be customized to meet your existing rough opening size. | | | | | | Q: How are your doors shipped? PLEASE NOTE: We ship to contiguous United States only at this time. | | | | | | A: All doors are crated & palleted prior to shipping to ensure safe transport via common carrier. Delivery location must be accessible by semi-truck. Curbside Delivery with liftgate service directlyto your jobsite is included and is normally $300.00-$445.00 ,depending on the door size and delivery location. | | | | | | Q: More shipping info: A: If you e-mail us with your zip code, we'll happily quote you an exact shipping rate to your location. | | | | | | Q: How do I determine door swing? Right-Hand/Left-Hand, Inswing/Outswing? A: Door swing is determined by hinge placement: If you're standing outside of house, facing door, (as if to open & enter) and hinges are on the left (knob on right) and door opens IN, it's called: LEFT-HAND INSWING. If hinges are on the right (knob on left) and door swings IN, it's a RIGHT-HAND INSWING. Same if door swings out - go by hinge placement.
Q: What payment options are available? A: PayPal preferred. We also accept cashier’s checks and money orders. Personal checks require five (5) business days to clear; doors are not built until check has cleared. We are not set-up to accept credit card payments at this time. Our billing address will appear during the checkout process or see below.
